# Give your pixel language a shared meaning

A pixel picture can stand for a short meaning you agree on together. Begin with a few clear expressions rather than a complicated codebook.

## The meaning comes from the two of you
A heart could mean “thinking of you” or “I’m home.” A picture does not know your intended meaning. Agreement beforehand makes the expression easier to understand.

## Start with a small set of moments
Each person can name three moments when a little thought would feel welcome. Look for overlaps: a break in a busy day, a goodnight, or a wordless encouragement. Give each meaning one short sentence. Avoid assigning many conflicting meanings to the same picture.

## Share the moments you would like
The homepage heart, moon and smile are examples to start the conversation. Tell the team what you would like a picture to mean in your day; picture options will be introduced with the product.
