# Keep the connection low-pressure

Agree that a picture is not attendance tracking or a test of affection. A late view or no immediate response should not automatically become a relationship judgment.

## Keep choice on both sides
Discuss when you would like to use a ring, and when you would rather not. Work, meetings, exercise, or time alone can all make an interruption unwelcome.

## Do not use device behavior to infer affection
Networks, battery levels, phone state, and habits can affect an experience. A missing picture or reply is not enough to establish whether someone cares. Ask directly when you need to understand what is happening.

## Revisit the agreement
After some time, compare which moments felt good and which created pressure. Allow less frequent use, a pause or a change in meaning whenever either person wants it.
